RAF Newton
Nottinghamshire

We are excited to be involved in one of the biggest housing schemes to be created in Nottinghamshire in nearly a decade.

The former Air Force Base RAF Newton will be the site of 500 new homes, after outline planning permission was granted by Rushcliffe Borough Council. As well as much needed new homes for the area, there will be a new primary school and district centre, creating a whole new community.

MHH was awarded demolition contracts for this historic site which was used briefly as a bomber base for the squadrons to re-equip after the Battle of France and, then later used as a flying training school during WWII and beyond until its closure in 2000.

Works comprised of the demolition and slab removal of multiple structures constructed across the complex heritage of the site with crushing and recycling on site of 6F2 aggregate for use in the building phases of the homes.

Equipment included; CAT 320DL, High Reach Excavator, Bell 301D Dumper, CAT 210 Excavator, Doosan 140L.
