We work in accordance with the approved programme of work, phased operations and safe demolition techniques.  All works are rigorously planned and undertaken in line with BS 6187:2011 and in accordance with the requirements of the CDM Regulations 2015.

 

 

Recent projects:

2014-Site close to a number of residential properties, and a  student village.  Demolition and dismantling of a fire damaged vacant listed building.  To allow  reconstitution of the building the project involved careful deconstruction, each  item surveyed in situ, removed, recorded, palletised, labelled and wrapped, then removed for safe storage off site.

Requirement of  temporary support and protection of existing parts of the structure and roof, retention and propping of existing facades, temporary support to structural load bearing walls and floors, the strengthening and support of key items of the existing roof structure. Removal of sections of internal floors/ ceilings over three storeys including temporary support, working at height (crane and MEWPS) to remove sections of roof and chimneys.

Stoneacre Group-

Old Bush Pub, Hyde

Careful dismantling of a redundant public house to provide additional acreage for car pitch for Stoneacre.  Site loaction on busy main road, the works required scaffold protection.  Methods employed included mechanical and careful hand demolition to allow the salvage of bricks, tiles and timber.  The team were praised by the Local Authority Building Standards representative for their considerate manner and careful attitude, local residents were equally happy throughout the duration of works.

Weekend work involving the delicate dismantling of a pedestrian link bridge in a residential/ commercial quarter, site restrictions were in place and thus the site required careful maneouvering by all operatives at all times. Fully trained in house oxy-fuel propylene cutting operatives utilised.

The award of three major contracts to the Company by SCC.

 

Emergency Demolition Programme 2014-2016

The works comprise a stand by contract for emergency demolition work or the necessary works to make the structures safe 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.  Works may comprise of boarding, demolition of structures, strutting, propping, shoring up, making good surfaces, structures and ancillary works.  

 

Demolition of the Former Bridge House

Demolition of a fire damaged, severely vandalised complex comprising of four storey offices, workshops and warehousing facilities.   Further works included removal of asbestos and other contaminated wastes, soft stripping of all fixtures and fittings, site clearance, infilling of basements, reinstating the site

 

Housing Stock Reduction Programme 14/16

HRA regeneration at various locations including the Arbourthorne Fields development, carrying out the systematic demolition of  a large number of non traditional 5M type houses in order to deliver  a cleared site to enable SCC to facilitate a more diverse housing tenure.  

JPM- Sydney Street Demolition/ Refurb Crafts/ Nightclub/ Factory

May 2016- Sympathetic strip out to retain architectural and heritage features of these turn of the century redundant crafstmens works/ factories and the world renowned Niche nightclub to provide valuable space for the re development of this highly sought after urban space in an exciting new student and foodie orientated area of Sheffield.
